Jan Broberg

Advocate, Actress

Jan shares her story to bring great hope where there has been deep harm – to bring clarity and a shining light to every dark corner of secrets and shame. She knows that revealing secrets leads to prevention and healing! Jan Broberg has lived through a harrowing experience of kidnapping, rape, mental torture and planned suicide as a young 12-16 year old girl.

Her survival affirms our indomitable spirit to overcome the worst life has to offer. She embodies the truth that abuse victims, their families, and supporters can move forward to brighter happier futures, reclaiming what she calls  “happy childhoods at any age. We can, through telling our stories, raise awareness, experience healing and bring prevention to the global epidemic of child sex abuse.”  As an actress, a mom, an arts administrator, and a motivational speaker, Jan’s ‘success’ in life has been a lifelong commitment to choosing joy in the journey!  Working in the tough world of Hollywood is proof that dreams really do come true and that no matter what happens to us, it doesn’t have to define us. We are all worthy of love, joy, and success and we CAN have it!

Jan Broberg knows that it’s easier than most people realize to be conned by master manipulators who know how to gain your trust, then rip your life apart. These manipulators are usually people you know. They are in your family, your church, your schools, usually, in your lives already. This is why she is also an advocate for children who have been abused as well as an expert for parents, teens, and professionals on how to spot, protect and prevent tragedy.

She has been interviewed by Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Diane Sawyer, and Dan Abrams. She has appeared on Good Morning America, The View, E News, Entertainment Tonight, TMZ, Daily Mail TV, Dana Perino, and many UK programs as well. Her voice can be heard on a multitude of Podcasts and Radio shows as well as in Newspaper articles and Magazines from Rolling Stone to Newsweek. All have shared her story, message, and movement. She has spoken before groups of Police, Therapists, School Administrators, Counselors, Parents, Teens, University Students and would love to come to you and share her powerful story and the tools she has created to go from victim to victory in her forum “The Brave Walk Home.”
