Fmr. Investigative Sergent, Dallas PD

John H. White, Ph.D. is a former investigator sergeant in the Psychological Services Office, the Internal Affairs Division, and Fugitive and Special Investigations Unit of the Dallas Police Department.  He investigated numerous police officer shootings and was assigned to the Psychological Services Office and the Fugitive and Special Investigations Unit.  He has investigated over a hundred police officer shootings as well as sex crimes.

White is currently a Professor of Psychology at Stockton University in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he developed the university’s forensic psychology tracks for both the criminal justice and psychology programs. He is a licensed psychologist and has a private forensic neuropsychology practice evaluating and treating sex offenders and other forensic clients.  He continues to consult with law enforcement agencies on sex crimes and homicides.

White has developed a database of over 500 serial killers with 164 variables. He has used the database in his role as the technical advisor for the television documentary series Killer Profile on LMN and has advised and contributed material to the writers of the CBS show Criminal Minds. He has written a fiction novel inspired by his police experiences entitled, In Pursuit of a Serial Killer: The Archetype Case.
